About Me
I am a licensed psychologist specializing in adult psychotherapy with 20 years of therapy experience. My work experience includes 15 years as a therapist in the Department of Adult Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente. During my tenure at Kaiser I wore many hats, including serving as Training Director for Santa Clara's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program and Wellness Chair for the OB/GYN Residency Program.
My clinical areas of expertise include treating depression, anxiety disorders, and relationship issues. I am certified in treating perinatal mental health issues. I am particularly passionate about my work with both mothers and fathers struggling with perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety. In addition, I am experienced in offering support for women undergoing fertility treatment and those that have experienced pregnancy loss.
I take a collaborative approach to therapy and feel creating a supportive and caring environment is essential to this process. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. My background includes training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. I integrate these methodologies and techniques to offer a personalized approach tailored to my clients. I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
I value diversity, equity and inclusion and strive for cultural awareness, sensitivity and humility in the work that I do.
Originally an East Coast native, I am happy to have made the Bay Area my home.
I love my work, and would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have about my training or my practice.
